Jhalak · झलक
Ten seconds of Kashi.
From the people who know it.
Jhalak is a feed of 10-second video glimpses of Varanasi on HelloBanaras, each tied to the place it was made. We are inviting a small circle of creators who make the city first — you are one of them.
Free. Posting is invite-only during the pilot: already invited? Sign in with that e-mail and you're in. Otherwise ask to join — a person reads every request.
How it works
- 01
Sign in and claim a handle
Your name on every clip, and your page at hellobanaras.com/jhalak/by/you.
- 02
Record 10 seconds at a place
A ghat at dawn, a kachori counter, the aarti crowd. Tag the place — your clip lives on its page too.
- 03
It goes live after a quick check
Every public jhalak is reviewed by a person before it shows — usually within the hour.
What you get
- A following that is about Banaras
- People here came for the city. They follow you for the city.
- Your own page, on Google
- A public profile with your clips, your bio and your photo — indexable, shareable, yours to switch on or off.
- Kashi Coins
- 5 coins for every approved jhalak, up to 15 a day, on the HelloBanaras leaderboard.
- Invite five friends
- Every member can invite five creators of their own.
The few rules
- 10 seconds, not a vlog. The clip is cut at ten.
- No cremation rites, no grieving families, nothing inside a sanctum where filming is barred.
- Ask before close-ups of people.
- Your own music, or none. AI-made clips must say so.
