The Kashi Vishwanath Temple stands as a testament to the resilience of Hindu faith and the complex tapestry of Indian history. The main Jyotirlinga is 60 cm tall and 90 cm in circumference, housed in a silver altar. Raja Man Singh initiated rebuilding; Raja Todar Mal advanced construction further.
Aurangzeb's Destruction
Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb destroyed the temple and built the Gyanvapi Mosque in its place.

Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore built the present temple structure on an adjacent site.
