Reewa Ghat
Reewa Ghat, also known as Ganga Mahal Ghat, sits just north of Assi Ghat and was earlier part of it. Named after the Maharaja of Rewa (Madhya Pradesh) who constructed a palace here, this ghat offers a quieter alternative to its famous neighbour. The ghat was separated and rebuilt by Lala Misir, giving it a distinct identity. A small Shiva temple graces the steps. The area has become popular with long-stay travellers who appreciate its calm atmosphere while being walking distance from Assi's energy.
Spiritual & Historical Significance
Though not one of the major pilgrimage ghats, Reewa Ghat holds importance as a transition point between the bustling Assi Ghat and the culturally rich Tulsi Ghat to the north. It provides riverside access for residents of the Bhadaini neighbourhood and serves as a morning bathing spot for local families.
