Gate No. 4, reached from the Godowlia crossing, is the most popular entry into the Dham. The station of the Varanasi ropeway, one of India's pioneering urban public-transport ropeway projects, is steadily taking shape near the crossing. Designed to link Varanasi Cantt with the Godowlia area, the ropeway will one day glide visitors over the old city's busiest kilometres, making the journey to the Dham smoother still.
