300-Year-Old Rooftop Observatory at Man Mandir Ghat

On top of Man Mandir Ghat sits one of Maharaja Jai Singh II's five astronomical observatories, built in 1737. Most tourists walk right past it. Climb the narrow stairs to find massive stone sundials and celestial instruments still intact. Go during golden hour — the stone instruments glow amber and you get a stunning elevated view of the river bend.
