Visit Kabirchaura Math — Birthplace of Saint Kabir

Most visitors focus on the ghats and miss Kabirchaura Math, the monastery built at the birthplace of the 15th-century mystic poet Kabir. The atmosphere is calm and deeply philosophical. Morning is best when monks recite Kabir's dohas. The small museum inside has original handloom relics. Auto-rickshaws from Godowlia take about 15 minutes.
