Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. 'Akshaya' means imperishable — anything started or bought on this day is believed to bring lasting prosperity. It is considered an automatic muhurat — the entire day is auspicious.

Buy gold or start new ventures. Perform Vishnu and Lakshmi puja. Donate food, clothes, and money. Many weddings are held on this day without consulting muhurat.
