The Kashi Naresh's Legacy
Built in 1750 CE by Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh, this cream-coloured sandstone fortification represents the enduring legacy of the royal family of Varanasi. Located on the eastern bank of the Ganges opposite Tulsi Ghat, the fort features massive bastions, robust defensive walls, and intricately carved balconies in a blend of traditional Indian and Mughal architectural styles. The Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple within the complex adds a distinct spiritual dimension.
